Spiritual Director Job Description
The role of Spiritual Director can be filled by priests, deacons, or religious.  The priest Spiritual Director serves a special role in attracting other priests to the movement, in identifying needs in the diocese, in relating the movement's pastoral plan to the diocesan plan, and in making known the accomplishments of the movement among the clergy.  In working with a particular committee, the priest could well be visionary, the peacemaker, the inspirational "soul", the tone setter of the group.  He should be a promoter of Christian truth and practice that is reflective of the Gospel as it is to be lived in our day.  A Spiritual Director will be chosen for qualities which will benefit the movement.  These include personal holiness, knowledge of the movement, and availability.
