Lay Director Job Description
The Lay Director is primarily a symbol of the unity of the Cursillo Movement in the Diocese.  The Lay Director shares with the Assistant Lay Director coordination, administration, and representation of the movement.  Accordingly, the Lay Director should be present, visible, and open to the members of the movement at its many functions whenever they occur.  Furthermore, the Lay Director serves to coordinate all of the concerns of the movement in the diocese and should be a rich resource of information for the leaders and members of the movement.

In the spirit of subsidiarity, the Lay Director oversees overall promotion of the movement, ensures that reponsibilities and tasks are carried out, assists in matters of planning, and implements various decisions of the Secretariat.

The Lay Director is Chairperson of the Secretariat, responsible for the agenda of the Secretariat meetings, conducts the meetings, helps initiate proposals on which the Secretariat may act, and forwards all written communication to the Secretary for distribution and/or record keeping.  The Lay Director represents the Secretariat and the Rochester Cursillo Movement at the local, regional, and national levels.

The Lay Director is responsible for submitting an annual written report to the Bishop.
